The Importance of a Good Job
When he got his first job out of school, I felt like from my parents, it was a very foreign experience to them. They had second-hand and cultural ideas of how that worked because they didn't experience that. The economy was so bad actually when I graduated in 1992 that friends of mine who worked at the college paper were getting these terrible journalism jobs. So I wanted to kind of hold out for the economy to be better and maybe make some connections. And what I really learned in grad school was I had thoughts about doing broadcast, about doing television news.
