Nietzsche and the Helene's

A fragment from 1872 was originally meant to be part of birth of tragedy as a political section. It survives as a fragmentary essay, but nevertheless includes some fascinating observations about the Helene's. Nietzsche begins by saying that we moderns have an advantage over the Greeks and two ideas, which are given as it were as a compensation to the world. But notice that here, as with all things Friedrich-Nietzsche, it's not so simple because he says that we have an advantageover the Greeks.
