Bitcoin miners are able to fully combust the methane and convert it to energy and CO2. This is a direct improvement from an emissions perspective. The report also claims that the methane ought to be used for other uses, like hydrogen production or that it should be exported via pipeline. If the methane were market relevant, it would have been piped out.
