The Military Confrontation of the Global Order

During the Cold War, since the late, sort of mid to late 1960s, there was an attempt by both the United States and the Soviet Union to find ways to coexist. The possibility of a military confrontation between two nuclear armed adversaries is harder now than it's probably been since the Cuba missile crisis in 1962. Russia has just walked away from the last arms control agreement that existed; they will no longer tell the U.S. when it tests ballistic missiles.
