What's New Take Story?

I think it's in part because people recognize. And they either like something they recognize, and either they enjoyed it a lot, or maybe they didn't even enjoy it, and they want a new take on it. Basicly, it's kind of the same but it's like a new take story you already know. A lot of these retellings that we're talking about are kind of so pervasive that even if we didn't study them, we are aware of them, if that makes sense.
