Is Prediction a Central Central Goal?

A lot of the current views that focus heavily on predictions, like predictive coting ors, are very much in the spirit. They aren't necessarily grounded theories. And i'm thinking about when we interact with different groups of people, we have concepts that we've learned from culture and media. Can we learn to apply it in our own inner actions with people? Right?
