The Effect of Male Domination on Science and Engineering Degrees

One interesting study found that boys do have more positive attitude towards science than girls. It was particularly small in biology and larger in the physical sciences, which is consistent with the relative proportions of men and women in these fields. But it's also the case that even when men and women are equally well prepared for scientific or other technical majors they still tend to drop out at a much greater rate than males. So it seems that overall the reasons for the gender differences in STEM fields are complicated and multifaceted as indeed are all of the contributing factors to all sex differences.
