Benford an analyzed datus data sets like this, and one of the things he figured out was the presence of certain numbers will appear in a pretty standard distribution. If those made up stock transactions don't have a certain number of ones and zeros in them, the chances are they're just made up. The fact that all these people turned out for bidin who didn't turn out for a bomba in a city whose population's been really stable and itle weird, isn't it?
