How to Read a Vocabulary Word

Read the whole passage once or twice. Think about what the author is saying and then summarize these ideas in your own words. The next step, read it again. And this time choose three or four keywords, words that you don't know but think will help you understand the passage better. Learn three or four new words and then go back to the passage. Now that you have this new knowledge, maybe you'll get more context. All right. Read the whole thing again slowly and then add to your summary again.
