The Importance of a Data Model in a Discovery Process
Oddberg used to do in their discovery process as one of our deliverables something called the data model. Now, they've replaced that with an object map which is a list and card system for showing relationships between objects. They also use it internally where I probably wouldn't have talked with the back end developers much at all before but now we can go through them together. It's just been transformative. The client's grasp what we're trying to do quite quickly and help us to get clear on the terms,.The terminology they want to use sometimes it'll spark internal discussions amongst themselves.
