Broom a Flying

This wooden broom, which weighs three pounds functions like a mundane broom until you stand to stride it and speak its command word. Then hovers beneath you and can be ridden in the air. The lightning ignites flammable objects in the area that aren't being worn or carried. So now it's an imagical object and therefore is it subject to a normal, a mundane object will catch on fire when we're magic objects? It depends on the lightning wording. We need to know if this was a gecko free cruelty free broom or not. Any good DM worth their salt will include whether or not geckos were destroyed.
