The title track was the fourth single from the Rhythm Nation album. Jammin Lewis started out as part of Prince's protege band at the time, but they angered the purple one when they were in Atlanta for a production gig. They would just go to movies with Janet Jackson and hang out with her at any number of like Minnesota's bazillion lakes. The song is basically the mission statement for everything that Jackson wanted out of her life and career.
