Is Artificial Intelligence Really Changing the Innovation System?

DeepMind, which is an AI part of Google, used artificial intelligence to do something I guess you would never have thought was a useful artificial intelligence. It worked out better ways of solving matrix algebra. And so there's a sense in which the innovation system itself is starting to align itself with artificial intelligence being able to do things. People's jobs are immediately changing and their roles within the lab are changing.
