The Effect of Calvin's Study of Scholastic Theology on the Issues

Calvin argues that while the supernatural gifts are destroyed from like, communion with God is no longer a given, the natural gifts of human reason remain. He does not restrict himself to arguments that flow straight from biblical exegesis. And so it has these kind of scholastic flavor, which is like one side of Aristotle. But at the same time, you get this very humanistic approach that also draws from Aristotle.
