Why Farmers Are Still Growing Wheat and Paddy?
Climate change does not only include heat stress, it also includes no erratic rainfall. So this year, the er met department is expecting the monsons to come a week prior. If there were all these risks involved, then why are farmers still growing mainly wheat and rice? The answer to this goes back to the time of green revolution. We did achieve food self sufficiency. We are now exporting food as well but the policies have not evolved yet.
