How to Get Authority From a Title

In your first job, build social capital. You've got to teach people to trust you. Having lots and lots of cups of coffee or tea with everybody you possibly can is a great way to create social capital. A lot of people want to get authority from a title. And i have not seen that work. You get authority through your own confidence, your own kindness, your own strength. That's something that no title's going to give you. So the more you spend time getting know who you are and learning to love that, the better off you will be....
