The Rise and Fall of Christianity in Cities
In the ancient world, Christians were the deviant. You know, they were proposing revolution. They were fomenting revolution. Now, they didn't really see it that way. But you know, as Robert Wilkin points out in his book, The Christians as the Romans saw them, Christianity posed a genuine threat to the social order. This is so counter cultural that the Romans were scandalized by it. And this still happens today. We still need those cities in order to bring the the ideas and the thinkers together, at least in a virtual way.
