The Bible as a Compost Pile

The idea of the Bible as a compost pile has been used by Walter Bruggemann in his book Text Under Negotiation. Jared: I think it's also a beautiful metaphor because it seems to describe the way the situation actually is. And you might not like some of the things that grow out of it, but for other people, it might be their existence is on the line because they can grow those carrots and that rhubarb or whatever they do.
