Why Isn't God as Evidently Existing as You Are?

Alvin plantinga makes distinction between a defence and a theodice. He argues that god's hiddenness is not logically incherent in terms of what his nature is. There are some interesting defences put forward about why it is that god may permit himself to be a not perceived by non resistant, non believers. If god made himself so readily apparent to those who are seeking him, it may be that that obviousness of his revelation may in some way compromise the free will of those who come to believe in him. Well, then there would be a compromise of a very important good in the life of the human being. And that seems to be incongruent with who god is.
