Because of the streaming era and the Netflix willingness to buy out everyone's back ends, these upfront costs for stars have gone up. This is why studios don't make comedies anymore because to make it feel theatrical, you got to get a big star. And then the budget comes up and you've got to make your money back and it's hard.
