The Reverse Effect of Auto Saving in Games

I play a lot of excom style games with like permadeath and stuff. Sometimes if I'm not like trying to be a try hard, I'll be like, okay, you know, I'm gonna save this dude. And then so I'll save it. And then after 15 different ways,. I'm like, dude, I think you're just dead. Like there's nothing I can do. So instead I'm almost happy with a checkpoint save, even if it's farther away. But then you're right when you corrupt when something corrupts or what have you, you're just looking at another two hours of that repeated content or whatever. You're like, yeah,
