Active Rest and Passive Rest

Active rest is doing your chosen sport or conditioning activity at a significantly reduced intensity. A runner would need to run for active rest at a pace 30 % slower than their most recent a ten k time, when broken down into pace per mile. Passive rest means doing any activity that uses muscle groups and movement patterns that do not directly compete with your primary activities. i found that they were having a lot of hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder enjuries from too much sparring, too much fighting, and too much heavy bag time. So I took time out of their workouts, usually at least once a week, and we went to the swimming pool and did neck deep shadow ing.
