The History of Horse Racing and Betting
Dean's love of racing came from his father, who bred a number of horses in New Zealand and Australia. He can recall doing the form when he was about 13 or 14 watching particular race on bog heavy track with only three horses that could handle it. And I suppose I sort of twigged in my head that, hang on, if you do a bit of research and you know what you're doing, you can do something out of this. But having said that, I still went through my early years finding a lot of winners and certainly backing a lot of big price winners - but still not winning overall. So rather than quitting, I wanted to educate myself on how to become profitable
