The Importance of Time
The size of the future increases with complexity. The configuration of the universe is not predetermined. It's only predictable once a given moment in its development manifests meaning at any point in its development the universe's state will appear to have been inevitable but only in retrospect. At which point it will seem surprising yet inevitable just like the ending of a good rom-com when the cat is released from the box unharmed.
