The Narcissist and the Empath

Narcissists are selfish, emotionally and morally bankrupt individuals. They do not consider other people's feelings at all. It doesn't seem to make sense that too such people would be even remotely attracted to each other. Empaths find themselves entangled with Narcissists a disproportionate amount of the time comparatively speaking because it seems such an unlikely pairing in a lot of ways.
