The Tree Planting Project in Inner Mongolia
i was working at an environmental angio an china, where they had a project on large scaletree planting to prevent dust storms. A the project was based in inner mongolia, which was one of the main field sites that the project ended at being about. And i wanted to start thinking about actually a sort of reorganization of this idea of national territory. It really took me speaking with a lot of geographers and asking questions like what is the iportance of materiality? What account would you have to have to be able to talk about ashy, the politics of these weird weather systems that are emerging all the time?"
