There was hail when I came out of the basement for my break, white stones melting everywhere on the steps. The sun was out so the storm must have been brief. It was dizzying to think how I almost missed these tiny ice moons sparkling in autumn light. And then there were a couple from Ava when she was a toddler and one that was more babbling than speech.
