CEOs Fail the Scale, but Where's the Accountability?

CEOs run out of gas in that they just can't get to the next level of scale. The key telltale on that is when you start having more ideas about what they should be doing with their org than they do. Each exec grows up in a function, so if Ben Horvitz has a head of product underneath him I think he can actually do it. He can do quite a bit of things. But if BenHorvitz is trying to teach the sales guy to be an awesome head of sales, yeah. That's like a pointless too.
