The Importance of Macroeconomics in Investing

I think macroeconomics has become central to investing. It is difficult to form a recommendation for clients in nearly any area unless you have some knowledge of macroeconomic trends and policy. I'm fascinated by this idea that there weren't very many economists, why are there so many now? But if you try not to do that, you'll be asked about the Fed as soon as you walk through the door. Everyone is a Fed watcher now. So I just think the subject has become very dominant in the way people think about investing. More and more knowledge is needed to help people make those decisions.
