Should the Role of a Coach Be Redefined?
I think the role of coach needs to have an element of understanding children and young people for the stages of development that they're at. It's just quite a sad indictment, to be fair. People will not change until they feel the most amount of pain. I wouldn't say countless but numerous deaths within an academy environment for players that have just been released for change to occur. So it comes from good leadership. Good leadership in order to create the right nurturing culture needs leaders who understand that,. Who self-regulate, self-reflect, are constantly involved in developing themselves.
