mindfulness is a non judgment open hearted awareness of what's happening in the moment. The easiest way to do it is to ask yourself, what do i see? What do i hear? What do i smell? What do i taste and what do i touch? When you are in your senses, you are instantaneously in the moment. Asking yourself these questions helps us in the process. And when our mind is in this anxious place, we can drop into the now and calm that anxiety by pointing and naming. It's a powerful way to take mindfulness out of the cushion into the world.
