The Virtue of Hope in the Christian Life
It's a serious mistake to despair of our sins, especially as death approaches, rather than to have hope in God's mercy and the promise of salvation. There is no sin that a human being can commit that God is not able to forgive. And so that involves recognizing that we have sinned and also having confidence in the power of Christ's passion to restore us to grace. It really leads us to the element of hope that is also so central to the Christian life.
