How to Balance Empathy and Accountability in a Team
One of the things that I feel like leaders sometimes struggle with is balancing empathy with accountability. So how can you be empathetic while also making sure that your team is doing what your team needs to do? Yeah, it's really interesting. Maybe I'll explain this from a brain perspective. Do you remember the old days when we'd worked by telephone mostly, we wouldn't see people a lot. We'd have folks that we would work with for a long time and we'd never meet them or see them. And then we'd finally meet them and we'd be like, oh my gosh, you're completely different to the image I had of you.
