The American War on the Pacific

The final report of the conference is not as long as you might think. It's about five or six pages and they distilled into those pages a number of subsidiary points that we probably don't have time to go into all of those. The basic resolution was again that the Americans would have a free hand in the Pacific using whatever force was already there. There was very very little British naval power in the Pacific at the time so that really was an American war and would continue to be. Sicily was the target not the channel which now gets bumped for a year.
