George and the Ganges

There were no hard and fast rules. Everything was free and easy. No schedule or timetable to be stuck to. Everyone who just wanted to sleep around the clock could do so. I remember at the beginning we had sort of assembly in the evenings. And he said that George used to come down and sort of play his sita amongst a lot of the younger ones too, not just upon our roof. Lovely. There's photographs. In fact, there's a photograph in the book of him and me sitting by the Ganges. Oh, yes. And Richard wrote a book and his memory is great actually because it sort of enlarged what my memory was.
