121: Zohar Atkins - Liberalism, Hierarchy and AI
Narratives w/Will Jarvis
Is Hierarchy Inevitable?
I think hierarchy is inevitable, it's a kind of law of both nature and human organization. I'm absolutely against metaphysical hierarchy when it comes to comparing human beings to one another. If everybody is created in the divine image, then certain certain rights and obligations follow from that insight. We can reasonably disagree about what those are. But from that point of view, there is no hierarchy. No one person can claim to be better than another person. And you can't inherit greatness, you have to become great. The Israelite people are chosen for a specific mission.
