Introduction

E Company were associated with the American paratroopers during World War II. Paratrooping was a relatively new innovation in warfare that involved using aircraft to drop parachutists behind enemy lines. The declaration of war on Germany by the British is cited by most as symbolising the start of the Second World War in 1939. When Japan brought the United States into war there was a realisation that there were two fundamental ideologies at war with each other.
