A lot of cops would agree that they're being put on to the streets to deal with problems that were not created by the police or broader social problems, he says. He adds: "This becomes very quickly the logic of the sort of thin blue line" But it doesn't mean for the most part they're going to treat those communities with the respect and dignity that they deserve, he argues.
