The Ship Burial at Sutton Ho
Students working with charles phillips, began to find small, inlaid gold jewels. All organic materials like wood and leather had decayed in the damp and acetic soil of sutton ho. They had all been eaten away. And this fact might explain, then, the absence of a body. So whereas in the ship burials in sweden, one always found some sort of human remains... nothing coming from a human body was uncovered in what was ostensibly the burial chamber at suttonho.
