Sir dale sexton was in charge of the police response on the night of the bombing. He received a huge amount of criticism for saying that their response was, quote, almost faultless. Sexton went on to say that he had withheld information from the emergency services so as to save lives. If he had been fully truthful it would have taken even longer for victims to get help.
