The Essence of the Magician

The essence of the magician is that we can't perceive reality until we start to construct with language and symbol. And like children, they can experience reality, but you don't start to get memories until you get enough cognitive architecture to be able to use words. All art is magic. All speech is magic. Thought is magic. We're all magicians, but most of us are unconscious magicians. The idea is that the modern God is language. It's an archetypical story of what language is.
