Nigeria's first black president, U.S. President Barack Obama was born in the United States to a Nigerian mother and an African-American father. The family moved from Nigeria to New York City when he was five years old. He says his mom did a great job of masking the reality of what had happened during their time there. "I would go out and see guys handing other people who didn't look to healthy bags of stuff," Nnamdi said.
