Don't Override Me, I'm Already in the House of Lords, You Know?

Just three days after peter cruthers took his seat as a conservative member of the house of lords, he donated half a million pounds to the party. I can understand why people have made something out of that, but hang on a minute. Why do i need to donnate you know? 15 of the last 16 conservative party treasurers were offered peerages, having eachdonated at least three million pounds tothe party. A daily telegraph column from two thousand and six described the sale of peerages as a crime that is quentesentially british and unknown to any other jurisdiction on earth. But i think peers are embarrassed when they think things aren't done properly
