There are so many wonderful places. Sanibel Island and the Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge is a great place to go for birding in the winter times. Another one of my favorite places is Padre Island National Seashore in Texas. Walter Anderson, I refer to him in my book as the painter laureate of the Gulf of Mexico. He painted almost exclusively Gulf nature in the early and mid 20th century.
