The Virtues of Aristotle
I'm trying to understand what the practical person is like it's not that they have to be a politician or anything like that. No it's a life committed to the community which might or might not involve taking part in the local council or something like that. The best way to do it is to give you a list of the virtues or some of the virtues that Aristotle discusses at length diverting a chapter to each of them so he starts off with courage and temperance then he goes on to virtues concerned with money. We get friendliness truthfulness and ready wit now that's perhaps not something we would normally find on a list of virtues today but ready wit could on occasion save somebody's life
