No Difference Between NSAIDs and Other Pain Relievers

The Cochrane review included 20 randomized or quasi randomized control trials with about 3,300 participants. The average age across all comparisons was 20 to 35 years and the primary outcome investigated was pain. No significant differences in pain on a visual analog scale at 1 to 2 hours, 1 to 3 days, or 7 days, or more after treatment. Tonsillitis can occur alone or in conjunction with pharyngitis.
