The Upside Risk to the Fed
If the economy in the US proves more resilient, inflation moves, proves more persistent, I think we could easily see the Fed raising rates more aggressively. The necessary costs of dealing with them will be mild recessions in the year ahead. A failure to deal with the inflation problem now would mean a much greater cost to clean up the resulting mess in the years to come.
