When my dad died seven years ago, it was a very different experience to be in my forties than to be early twenties. Just because i knew so much more and i knew myself better. One of the distinctions that you make early on in the book is this distinction between grief and grieving. I thought it was really useful for me personally. But now others have found it useful as well. It's the way that grief changes over time without actually going away. You may even have learned how to bring yourself some comfort in that moment. This change over time is grieving.
