The Bible opens with nothing. God makes existence out of non-existence, and we get this scene in the garden where humanity falls. We discover quickly his best thing is that he believes God, but he has a bunch of other character flaws. His descendants have all kinds of character flaws, but it's not about them. He takes an unconditional promise to Abraham that there's going to be one who that serpent is going to strike at.
