In the quantum leap TV series, Scott Bakula goes back in time and inhabits someone's body. He needs to make small adjustments but assumes that if he makes this little choice now, there's only one line that the universe will take going forward. The problem is you're cashing out Nili's case in a way which is quite easy for the compatibilist to think about,. But something so completely out of his control where he was as a fetus within his mother's womb, that seems like it could undermine compatibilism.
